Due to expansion, we are looking to appoint an energetic person to help us continue our successful journey.
French-speaking Tour Manager
Responsibilities:
• Quotes: liaise with prospective customers for itinerary and pricing enquiries
• Bookings: book services with our various suppliers
• Travel documents: issue final itineraries, vouchers and brochures
• General customer service-oriented duties
Competencies:
• Fluent in verbal and written French and English,as you will be in daily contact with French-speaking customers and English-speaking suppliers
• A good, broad knowledge of New Zealand, its culture and geography is mandatory
• Knowledge of the local accommodation and/or tourist activities market is highly desirable
• Good knowledge of French culture and the ability to provide fast and accurate answers to enquiries from French-speaking customers
• Highly organised and a well-developed sense of customer service
Terms of employment
• Permanent role
• Full-time position,five days a week, 8.30am to 5pm
• Location: Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand.
• Remuneration: negotiable depending on skills and experience
French-speaking Hiking Product Manager
Key Responsibilities:
• Be the contact between Once Upon a Trip and the Department of Conservation
• Arrange quotes for guided tours of up to 11 travellers on a per person basis
• Liaise with our French partners for upcoming bookings and organise departures
• Manage other French-speaking guides according to a booking schedule
• Conduct regular briefings with French-speaking guides regarding specifics of each tour including: number of walking hours, levels of fitness,types of accommodation, catering and safety plans etc.
• Offer new tours to our French partners, taking into consideration the Department of Conservation concession system and New Zealand legal requirements for the travel and tourism sector
Individual hikers:
• Create, develop and implement new products for individual hikers
• Be able to accurately informhikers regarding levels of fitness required, accommodation options, equipment, weather conditions and other specialist hiking advice
Competencies:
• Fluent in verbal and written French and English, as you will be in daily contact with French-speaking customers and English-speaking suppliers
• A good knowledge of New Zealand, its culture and geography is mandatory
• An excellent understanding of hiking and New Zealand hiking tracks
• Solid experience of the French hiking market, including the kind of products and services French hikers look for
• Strong knowledge of French law (Loi de 1992) where it relates to hiking
• Highly organised and a well-developed sense of customer service
• A minimum of five years’ experience in hiking product management
