New Zealand Regions and Cities

This overview of regions differs from anything you might read, and there is a good reason for that: it is totally subjective! This is simply our cut and views. We do not claim to list what every region has to offer, but we aim to capture the true essence of each one and to act as a starting point to design every trip.

New Zealand nature certainly boasts a huge variety of rocks, plants and animals, and we will propose them all to you in more ways than you can imagine. But we are also adamant that the few cities with a decent population are really worth visiting. They are beautiful and clean, they will make you feel safe day and night, and they offer a wide range of activities for the whole family.

If you are after the very big picture, it is a bit difficult for us to recommend one island more than the other, each of them having its own special thing. Make up your mind according to what you like or your centres of interest. The only advice would be not to try and see it all unless you can actually give yourself enough time.
