Northland

The further North you go, the warmer it gets. Sounds obvious from here, but not from a northern hemisphere perspective! Base yourself in Russel or Pahia to discover the top of the North Island and set foot on the 90 Mile Beach. Just watch where to drop your beach towel with 4x4’s driving around with a rather loose approach to speed limits. Cape Reinga offers more adventures in the only place where you can have one foot in the Pacific Ocean and the other in the Tasman Sea! Northland also has a great kauri tree reserve and two large forests.
