Taranaki - Wanganui

New Zealand coastlines are truly magnificent and the North Island West coast is no exception. Wanganui is mainly renowned for its river Whanganui, home of the only NZ Great Walk that you do in a canoe. The town itself is beautifully set on the banks of an estuary. Taranaki is a very original sweet spot. Its perfectly shaped volcanic cone can be circled by car or by foot on the many tramping tracks and the ocean sight doubles the magic view. New Plymouth is the pleasant little city that benefits from the proximity of these two draw cards, plus a few ski slopes in winter.
